I've gone back and forth in regards to issue tracking. I don't mind using SourceForge's tracker, but unfortunately, it's just not easy and most YAF developers don't like it. But the other option has been poor: using the support forum as a place to post bugs and issues. It creates a situation where you can't figure out what is open and to which version it applies. I installed the excellent BugNet project a while ago. But realized the project and myself were not entirely ready to adopt it. Well, now it's time to get YAF properly tracked and organized. Behold, one and only YAF.NET bug/issue tracker: http://tracker.yetanotherforum.net Please note that you need to make a new account to post on the tracker. I will be adding integration options here at some point.

The YAF project is now strongly signed. Strong signed assemblies with open source causes a few problems, though. I want everyone to be able to compile the project, but not necessarily be able to make official YAF releases. I’ve decided on a compromise. I’ll keep the YetAnotherForumKey.snk in the main project source with every project referencing that key pair. It includes both the public/private key and will keep the simplistic compiling of the project. If you do compile the project, it will be strongly named.
But, any official releases of YAF will use a private key not included in the SVN (Tiny Gecko’s Key). That way you can test to verify if that assembly is an official release from the YetAnotherForum.NET project.
I believe that’s a decent compromise for security and versatility of the project going forward. Please give me your thoughts if you feel otherwise.

There are a few areas I could use assistance with YAF. One area is the language (localization) files. Some are woefully out of date. I synced and updated them by filling the missing pieces with the English version, but I don’t speak these languages and they are missing native translations. If you want to help the project, please do so by downloading one of these files and localizing the language.
Attached is a zip with all the most recent localization files. The localization files are in XML format. If you need software to do XML editing, I suggest you install Microsoft’s XML Notepad 2007.
Download YAF v1.9.305 (Dated 7/26/2009) localization files
Another note: if you are having any issues with YAF with languages other than English, please download the above zip file and overwrite your /language directory. It may fix problems you are having.

I guess its about time I get a blog. I've resisted the templation since I've been busy doing lots of other misc things. Now that I have a little time to get serious about YAF, I feel it's probably the time to go ahead and bite off more than I can chew. In all honesty, I have had a blog for a long time. I started a personal blog (wrote my own very simplistic PHP software) back in 2001. I quickly realized I had no interest in spewing my personal musing. I thought, who would want to hear about my personal life? Now we have MySpace, Twitter, Facebook and a host of other "Me" personal blog rolls to entertain our every curiosity of those we deem important in our lives. Personally, I don't really enjoy discussing my personal life with strangers. But, I do enjoy discussing the direction of development, specifically YetAnotherForum.NET. I have a feeling this blog will be a cathartic place to vent, muse and entertain as well as open up some new open source-to-open source project discussions.
All logins on Forum.YetAnotherForum.NET work on this site -- so no need to re-register.
Also, I'm already starting to think how BlogEngine and YAF can be more integrated. Any thoughts?
