Hello,
I have just set up a new forum using version 2.24.19 and I have started registering it with google to get it indexed in their search engine. My robots.txt file is allowing everything, however when I try and register it with Google it is reporting "No: 'noindex' detected in 'robots' meta tag". This is happening if Google is crawling as a desktop or mobile agent.
I have viewed my forum using Chrome on a desktop and viewed the source and can see a meta tag of <meta name="robots" content="noindex, follow" /> in the source code. I tried manually adding my own "allow" meta tag in default.aspx, however google is still showing issues.
Do you know if the change in 2.24.19 to add the noindex to m. pages has managed it find its way into desktop pages too?

My site is sitting behind cloudflare and I have tested that by turning off caching and going direct to the server, so it isn't cloudflare doing anything odd.
Many thanks
Paul.
Yes that is correct! Only topics are allowed to be indexed.
Thank you for your quick reply. I will move this one out of bugs, if it is meant to do that.
Quick question though.... If only topics can be indexed, how do I register the site with Google, if I can't register the home page?
I tried registering just one topic and their spider couldn't then find other topics.
Many thanks for your help!

Yes right you are right the forum mainpage should be indexed and also it should be changed to noindex follow. Will be fixed with the next update!
Excellent. Thank you for confirming!
Just a quick update from my own trial and error with getting my forum to submit to search enginers..
Would the next release have "index, follow" for the first two bullet points, so search engines crawlers can land at the front page and wonder around the forums?
Thank you for your hard work on the excellent software everyone!
Hello!
Sorry to be a pain. Do you know roughly when the next release will be and this issues resolved?
The Noindex on the front page has stopped me being able to submit to Google, Bing, Yahoo and other search engines, because they are just throwing an error. Google paid adverts work and are costing me a fortune.
Many thanks
Paul

Thanks for your feedback. I will release the new update on the weekend, with the changes you suggesting!
Wow. Thank you for the quick response.
If I knew where you were in the world I would send you a Mars Bar to say thank you. (or an apple if you are healthy)
Big thank you.

Super fast. Thank you so much!
I updated without any problem and the issue has been fixed. Google and others are happily crawling the site from the front page and all the way though.
Thank you for fixing it! :-)
